This applies even if your schedule includes some supplementary online or weekend sessions.

  • Weekend-Only & Predominantly Weekend Timetables: Courses where the majority or entirety of in-person contact hours fall on the weekend are legally classified by the government as "distance learning." • Tuition fees – up to £9,790 per year (Available for all study modes: weekday, evening, and weekend).

  • Living support – up to £10,830 per year, or up to £14,135 per year if studying in London (Available ONLY if you attend regular, in-person classes where the majority of hours are during the week Monday-Friday).

Common Questions

Can I get a maintenance loan and childcare grant if I study mostly on the weekend? No. Under government regulations, courses where the majority of in-person hours are not studied during the week are classed as distance learning. You can still get a loan to cover your Tuition Fees, but you will not receive living support or childcare grants. You must choose an approved majority-weekday schedule to apply for living support.

Do I pay anything upfront? No. If eligible, your tuition fees are covered by the Tuition Fee Loan, regardless of whether you study on weekdays or weekends. You repay later only if you earn over £25,000. (Note: You will need to cover your own living costs if studying on a weekend or distance-learning timetable).

Do I need school qualifications? No. Anyone with B1 English and UK residence can apply.

Can I work while studying? Yes. You study just 2 days a week.

Is this a real qualification? Yes. It’s recognised by UK employers and awarded by a UK university.

Is my English good enough? If you speak and understand at B1 level, you’re likely ready. Our app helps you practise.
